Nephrology
General medicine, also known as internal medicine, is the branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. General medicine practitioners, also known as internists, are trained to manage a wide range of medical conditions, from acute illnesses like infections and injuries to chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.
Internists are skilled in performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and coordinating care with other specialists when necessary. They also provide preventive care services, such as vaccinations, cancer screenings, and lifestyle counseling.
